Government has made changes with the positions of District Commissioner in Nchelenge, Chienge, Samfya and Mwansabombwe Districts respectively,  in Luapula Province.

Outgoing Nchelenge District Commissioner, Joseph Chisakula who has since been transferred to Chienge District in the same capacity, has confirmed the development.

ZANIS reports that Mr. Chisakula said this at his Office on May 14th when he said farewell to Heads of Government Departments.

He called on Civil Servants in Nchelenge to continue working hard and to desist from arriving for work late, and from knocking off from work before 17:00 hours.

Mr. Chisakula said Government attaches great importance to the Civil Service as it is aware that without an effective and efficient work force, very little can be achieved in terms of socio-economic development.

He said there is need for Civil Servants to accord the same co-operation and unity to the incoming Nchelenge District Commissioner, Mwape Chakaba who has been also been transferred from Samfya District.

And speaking on behalf of the Heads of Government Department, Nchelenge Magistrate Seliya Kanunka wished Mr. Chisakula a good stay in Chienge District.

She said the time Government workers interacted with the outgoing DC was both an enriching and worthwhile experience.

Miss Kanunka urged Mr. Chisakula to continue serving the Government diligently in the District he has been sent.
