—-Lusaka Province Minister, Freedom Sikazwe, has challenged the people of Kanyama constituency to form women’s clubs in order to benefit from women empowerment fund.

Mr Sikazwe made the challenge during his tour of Kanyama constituency in Lusaka yesterday.

Mr Sikazwe said the women empowerment funds are meant to help the women in starting up tangible business ventures in order to bring meaningful development.

He assured Kanyama resident that the government will do everything possible to improve living standards in the area.

Mr Sikazwe urged Community Development Officers to sensitize residents in order to avoid hindering government’s efforts in bringing development in the area.

He further said the roads in Kanyama will be worked on every year to ensure that they are maintained but warned residents to avoid encroaching in the road reserves.

The provincial minister said residents should not take challenges as a normal thing, adding that they should challenge people in authority to take up the responsibility.

Mr Sikazwe said people should come up with ideas and present them to government so that they are worked on.

And Lusaka District Commissioner, Ashell Kampengele, called on the people of Kanyama to get application forms from his office.
