——-Lusaka Province Minister, Freedom Sikazwe, has expressed happiness at the accelerated national roads construction program in the Province.

He said the people of Lusaka Province and Chongwe District in particular have cried for the upgrading of the road and are happy that government has responded positively.

Mr Sikazwe said the road will make the movement easier in terms of transportation of agricultural produce and agriculture inputs.

Mr Sikazwe was speaking in Chongwe today during a ground breaking ceremony of the Chalimbana road project of Chongwe District by President Michael Sata.

Speaking at the same function, Senior Chieftainess Nkomeshya Mukamambo II   said it was a great day for Chongwe residents because they have waited for good road network for a long time.

Chieftaines Nkomeshya Mukamambo added that it was a challenge to connect to Chalimbana College and Palabana because of the poor state of the roads.

She said the road project will also help her not to go through town whenever she wanted to visit Chirundu because of the direct link.

She further commended government’s gesture in sharing the national cake with Chongwe District.
