—-Northern Province Minister, Obius Chisala, says he is impressed with the interest shown by the private sector in contributing to the development of Northern Province.

Mr Chisala is particularly happy with the contribution of Mpende Fisheries and Ndole Bay in Nsumbu area of Nsama district for being good corporate citizens in communities where they operate from.

He noted that Mpende Fisheries has electrified Nsumbu Police Post and Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA), a development that has motivated workers at the two institutions.

Mr Chisala added that the fish company is planning to electrify offices for the Immigration Department in Nsumbu and also build a bridge in Mwando area in a bid to enhance economic activities among the local people.

He also said management at Ndole Bay has offered to connect power to Ndole Bay Basic School and two staff houses in Nsumbu and that the projects will be completed by this month-end.

Mr Chisala also praised Conservation Lake Tanganyika (CLT) for being an all-weather partner to Government in the area of health delivery.

He said it was commendable that CLT is constructing a modern clinic in Nsumbu to enhance quality health services to growing population in the area.

Mr Chisala has since directed all District Commissioners in the province to embrace Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the development process of their areas.

He further stated that Northern Province is endowed with natural resources that need massive investment to be fully exploited for the benefit of the local people.
