Suyuba advises small entrepreneurs

—-North-western Province Permanent Secretary, Augustine Seyuba, has urged people in the province to keep abreast with many regulations and technical trade specifications that would enable them grow their businesses.

Mr Seyuba said small scale producers in the province can only maximize their opportunities to trade effectively and create wealth at local level if they are up to date with the current undertakings in trade related issues that would enable them access broad market for their produce.

The Permanent Secretary was speaking in Solwezi today when he officiated at a one day training workshop on Trade Metrology organized by CUTS International Zambia held at Hill view Lodge.

Mr Seyuba said with the vast mineral resources and development opportunities, people in the region have great potential to create jobs and wealth through many different sectors of the economy such as agriculture and mining among others.

He said the civil the society has been active in partnering with relevant state agencies in order to enhance capacity of grassroots producers in many parts of the country.

Speaking at the same function CUTS International Zambia Coordinator, Simon Ng’ona, said his organization is committed to promoting the public private partnership with government.

Mr Ngo’na said CUTS wants to ensure that small scale producers in the country conform to measures and standards that will enable them compete both at local and international markets.
