—-Chief Chiwangala of the Bisa speaking people in Chilubi district has asked Government to adequately scrutinise investors wishing to invest in rural areas.

The traditional ruler says he has been approached by some investors wishing to invest in his area but some of them were not following the right procedure in sourcing for land.

He said this when Northern Province Minister, Obius Chisala, paid a courtesy call on him at his palace.

Chief Chiwangala stated that he will only issue out land to genuine investors with interest of uplifting his people’s welfare.

He said he would work closely with the Government in opening his area through giving out land for development.

And Chief Chiwangala has appealed to Government to construct a new palace for him as the one he is occupying is dilapidated.

The traditional leader also advised other chiefs to refrain from partisan politics but support the party in power.

And Northern Province Minister, Obius Chisala, advised Chief Chiwangala not to entertain unscrupulous investors into his chiefdom.

Mr Chisala said all prospectors wishing to invest in the province must follow the necessary procedure of acquiring land.

The minister also appealed Chief Chiwanagala to sensitise his subjects against harassing government workers operating in his area.

He further urged traditional rulers in the province to work hand-in-hand with the government in facilitating development in their chiefdoms.
