Nakonde completes second phase of street lights installation

———-Nakonde district council in Muchinga Province has finished the second phase project of installing street lights in the district.

 

Nakonde District Council Chairman Leonard Mukwasa confirmed this in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Nakonde today.

 

Mr. Mukwasa said that the Local authority has finally finished the installation of street lights in its second phase project in the area.

 

He said that 20 street light poles which have covered a stretch of one kilomiter have been installed in Stevenson road that stretches from great North road junction through the health center to Yolo Bridge.

 

Mr. Mukwasa further said that the whole project has gobbled a total amount of Kr 200,000.

 

He said that the project which will soon be commissioned to the public had been funded by government in order to improve security as well as the living standards of people in rural areas.

 

Meanwhile,  speaking in a separate interview, Nakonde Constituency PF Member of Parliament Able Sichula has thanked government for the development

 

Mr. Sichula said that this a clear indication that the PF government is very committed to ensuring that it improves the living standards of people in rural areas like Nakonde in the country.

 

He further said that this will also make the local authority in the area to use its daily revenue collections to develop other parts of the district.
