Senanga Nursing School to alleviate medical staff shortage-PS

————-Western Province Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba says construction of Senanga Nursing School once completed will help alleviate the shortage of medical staff in the Province.

 

Mr Mwamba says Western Province currently has a serious shortage of staff in the health sector with some health centers being manned by unqualified staff.

 

Mr Mwamba would like the construction of the Nursing school to be expedited so that it can be opened as soon as possible.

 

And Western Province Medical Officer Albert Sitali told Mr Mwamba that the school will open once construction of phase one which includes a library, lecture theatre and a staff house is completed.

 

Dr Sitali assured the Permanent Secretary that everything is being done to ensure that the school opens to the public as scheduled.

 

The school is being constructed by China Xing at a cost of about KR 5 million.
