Govt. urged to upgrade roads in Sinazongwe district

Choma, March 30, 2013, ZANIS – Sinazongwe district council has appealed to government to ensure the upgrading of the gravel road to bituminous standard that links the district administration (BOMA) is quickly done.

District council chairman, Cliff Siachibweka, says the current bad state of the 17 kilometer Sinazeze-BOMA road has impacted negatively on the development of the district.

He told ZANIS in an interview in Sinazongwe, today,  that most people have resorted to avoiding reaching the district administration because of the poor state of the road.

Mr. Siachibweka says it takes about an hour to cover only a stretch of 17kilometres.

He says there is need for government to consider improving the road which he said was the only one linking the district administration to the rest of the district.

Mr. Siachibweka says the local authority has no financial capacity to undertaken any repair of the road due to massive damage.
