RDA to complete Chavuma roads

Government has spent KR205 million on the expansion works of the Mutanda/Kabompo/Chavuma roads.

Road Development Agency (RDA) Director of Planning and Design Kayuka Mumba disclosed that most of the works on the road have been done and the project is expected to be completed by July this year.

ZANIS reports that Mr. Kayuka said this was when Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda inspected the road works in Chavuma today.

And Mr. Chikwanda stated that the road is an important communication link between Zambia and neighbouring Angola.

He said once the road is fully completed it will improve many business opportunities to Chavuma residents which have in the long period of time remained untapped.

Mr. Chikwanda has further urged the private sector to form alliances with Chavuma residents in order to improve trade in the district.

He stated that Chavuma district has potential of expanding in terms of trade in agricultural products, timber, construction materials and other commodities.
