The Lusaka Water And Sewerage Company(LWSC) has refuted reports from the Resident Development Committee (RDC) in Lusaka’s Mtendere and Kalingalinga compound of continued water shortage in the two areas.

LWSC Public Relations Officer Topsy Sikalinda said it is not true that the two areas had in the past two days experienced a critical water shortage.

The resident’s development committee in the two compounds were quoted as saying there has been a critical water shortage in the two areas with residents waking up as early as 04 hours in the morning to fetch water.

Mr. Sikalinda however said only a small section of Mtendere compound experienced a short period of water interruption due to a burst pipe in Kalingalinga .

He however said engineers have already moved on site to repair the broken pipe adding that works are expected to be completed soon.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sikalinda has urged members of the public to ensure that they immediately report any broken water pipes in their respective areas.

He has since reaffirmed that his company’s commitment to ensure that it provides quality water services to the people of Lusaka.
