—–The opposition United Party for National Development – UPND  lawyers are still discussing how to proceed with the petition against the just ended  election results in the Livingstone parliamentary by-election.

This has been confirmed to ZANIS in Livingstone by UPND Livingstone district spokesperson Neto Halwabala.

He claimed that the party has evidence to prove that the by-election was not free and fair as it was characterized by vote buying among other vices.

Mr Halwabala thanked the people who voted for the party and advised them not to despair but remain loyal and focused while  continuing to believing in the party.

And when asked about the conduct of some UPND carders who harassed Journalists at the UPND secretariat in Lusaka recently , he said the party is against such behavior describing the incidence as unfortunate.

He cited the PF convention which was held in Kabwe some years back when they were still in opposition as an example where a ZNBC crew was denied entry and coverage of the convention.

Mr. Halwabala noted that it is very important for political leaders to educate their people on such matters and discourage them from happening.
