——–Government has commended Nakonde District Council in Muchinga Province for its good management and service delivery to the people in the area.

Secretary to the Cabinet, Rowland Msiska, said in Nakonde over the weekend when he addressed civil servants in the council chamber that he is impressed with the manner the local authority is managing its operations and service delivery to the public in the area.

Dr Msiska observed that despite the district being in the rural setup, its performance has been far much better than those in urban areas.

Dr Msiska observed that there are very few local authorities in the country which are able to pay workers well like Nakonde District Council.

The Secretary to the Cabinet added that Nakonde council is one of the best three local authorities in terms of good office management and service delivery in the country.

Dr Msiska said he was, therefore, going to send other officers from different districts in the country to learn how to manage and to deliver goods and outstanding performance from Nakonde District Council.

He also said Nakonde District Council is a model to other councils in the country.

Dr Msiska has since urged all the workers in the district to continue with the same spirit of hard work if they are to derive more benefits from their work.

The Secretary to the Cabinet is on his continued tour of Muchinga Province checking on developmental projects and programmes being implemented by the government.

Dr Msiska is accompanied by the Permanent Secretary for Administration at Cabinet Office,  Anna Mwitwa Mwewa, Ministry of Finance Permanent secretary in charge of economic management and finance, Felix Nkulukusa, Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary, Charles Sipanje, and Director for Public Service Management Division at Cabinet Office, Sekwiba Lubasi, among others.
