KR11 million budgeted for construction of Chiefs ‘palaces in Nchelenge

———–– Government yesterday announced in parliament that the construction of palaces for Chieftainess Kanyembo and Chief Nshimba of Nchelenge District will commence this year.

 

Deputy Minister of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Susana Kawandami revealed that there is a provision of funds in the national budget for the same programme.

 

ZANIS reports that Ms. Kawandami disclosed that KR11 million has since been set aside for government to successfully embark on the project as soon as possible.

 

She said this when Nchelenge Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament (MP) Raymond Mpundu wanted to find out when government would construct palaces for Chieftainess Kanyembo and Chief Nshimba of Nchelenge District.

 

The Deputy Minister pointed out that government through her Ministry is setting up plans were the palaces for the traditional leaders could be established.

 

She further added that once the scheduled designing programme is completed and available it will be availed to parliament.

 

Parliament has since adjourned Sine Die.
