—–Government through the
Ministry of Gender and Child Development has empowered 10 women clubs
in Mwense district of Luapula Province with income generating equipment.

The clubs drawn from various wards in Mwense Central
Constituency have been empowered with nine hammer mills and a set of poultry equipment.

Mwense Central Area Member of Parliament David Mabumba handed over the
hammer mills and the poultry equipment to the clubs on behalf of the
government.

Mr. Mabumba who is also education deputy Minister told the women that
the Patriotic Front Government is determined to reduce poverty levels
among the women living in rural areas by providing them with various
income generating projects.

Mr. Mabumba was accompanied by Mwense district commissioner Victor
Kasuba, Ministry of Gender and Child Development provincial child
Coordinator Timothy Mwate, and Mwense district political secretary
Andrew Chabala.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Gender and Child Development provincial child coordinator
Timothy Mwate has implored the women to put the hammer mills
to good use adding as they are meant to improve the
livelihoods of their families through income generation.
