Kabompo District Education strategic plan drafted

 

Kabompo, March 14, 2013, ZANIS…………. A 2013/2018 Kabompo District Education strategic plan has been drafted with the help from the Strength Educational Performance Up – Zambia (SET UP – ZAMBIA) to provide quality education to learners.

North-Western provincial STEP – ZAMBIA Advisor Lubinda Chimwasu and Kabompo District Education Board Secretary Phoebe Kilele both confirmed the development to ZANIS in Kabompo yesterday.

They duo said that  2013/2018 Kabompo district education strategic plan was drafted at the end of a three day workshop held in the district council chamber yesterday.

They said the workshop was conducted by the Ministry of Education in conjunction with the STEP – ZAMBIA to provide a suitable district education strategic plan to cover a period of five years as a road map for the provision of quality, accessible, equitable and efficient education to all learners.

They said that the 2013/2018 Kabompo district education plan would also provide a clear road map for quality teaching of vernacular language and hand writing subjects in grades one to four as foundations for reading, writing and understanding in all the 68 primary and 37 community schools in the area.

They duo further said that the Kabompo district vision was to have learners with skills and knowledge that would enable them achieve better grade 12 examination results, enter colleges and universities or lead good lives and contribute to national development.

Chief Kalunga of the Luchazi people and Senior Chief Sikufele of the Mbunda’s representative Batson Kandimba who also attended the workshop thanked the PF government for creating a conducive environment for traditional rulers in the country to actively partner with government to enhance the delivery of quality education in chiefdoms.
