——-Western Province Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba has commended the Ministry of Lands, Natural Resource and Environmental Protection and Mumwa Crafts Association for their joint sensitisation Environmental Awareness program in the Province.
Mr. Mwamba said government takes cognizance of the fact that environmental fight and awareness campaign requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders and civil society organisations.
Mr Mwamba said this in a speech read for him by Western Province Acting Assistant Secretary Richard Mulwanda, at the official opening of the Environmental Awareness Campaign in Mawawa area in Mongu District yesterday.
Mr. Mwamba said it is everyone’s responsibility to take up an active role in environmental awareness campaign for the country to promote and sustain economic development saying government will remain committed to supporting all efforts by stakeholders.
Speaking at the same function, District Senior Forestry Extension Officer Jimmy Munganguta said the department is happy to note that Mumwa Crafts Association is working hand in hand with the department of forestry, adding that the Association has formed crafts groups in rural areas in the Province to sensitising the rural people on how to conserve the forestry.
