Country wide maize suppliers paid

Lusaka, March 7, ZANIS ———- Food Reserve Agency (FRA) Assistant Public Relation Officer Michael Mazakaza has disclosed that the agency has paid all the farmers who supplied maize to FRA during the 2012-2013 farming season throughout the country.

Mr Mazakaza told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that FRA record shows that no single farmer has been left out as all farmers have been paid their monies.

He thanked the farmers across the country for their patience adding that the agency has identified areas they need to rectify in order to serve farmers better in future.

He also said the FRA regrets the inconvenience caused to farmers for the delay in receiving their money.

Recently, some farmers in the nation who supplied maize to the FRA complained of delayed payment of their dues and they accused the agency of having failed the farming community in Zambia.

And Mr Mazakaza further stated that FRA will on March 12, 2013, donate assorted items to Chimbokaila State Prison as a way of cerebrating Youth Day cerebrations.

Mr Mazakaza said corporate responsibility is important as every organization is supposed to show support to the community in which they operate.
