First Lady expected in South Africa

First Lady Dr Christine Kaseba is tomorrow expected in Johannesburg, South Africa where she will be the Guest Speaker at the Global Business Coalition for Health members meeting.

 Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Muyeba Chikonde disclosed to ZANIS in Pretoria today that the Global Business Coalition for Health has members that include companies that invest their resources in tackling health issues as well as initiatives to tackle malaria.

 Mr Chikonde said the Global Business Coalition for Health also tackle diseases that include Tuberculosis, malaria and other non-communicable diseases.

“The meeting will focus on issues of threats posed by agriculture and food security, cross sector partnerships among African players,’’ he said.

Mr Chikonde further noted that Global Business Coalition for Health will also look at initiatives to eliminate malaria and will also focus on lessons learnt from effective local programming and how businesses can apply its experiences in addressing infectious diseases.

The High Commissioner also noted that the First Lady will also have round table meetings and will also meet members of the Global Business Coalition for Health who are interested in cervical cancer.

Mr. Chikonde has since called on Zambians to support the First Lady in her programmes.

 The First Lady is also expected to attend a dinner shortly upon arrival tomorrow that will hosted by South Africa First Lady Bongi Ngema-Zuma .
