Minister Challenges Council

—-Lands Deputy Minister John Kufuna has challenged the Kalulushi Municipal Council to service areas before issuing out plots.

Mr Akufuna said there was need for the local authority to provide social services such as electricity, water and roads before land was issued out to members of the public.

The minister was speaking in Chambishi following the scuffle between Lulamba Ward Councillor Phoeby Mulenga and Robbie Machai over a piece of land.

He further urged the council to find land for residential for the people of Kankoyo station and educate them that the land they claimed to be theirs was for commercial purpose.

Councillor Mulenga said the land in question was given to some people during the MMD government.
