Police in Eastern Province has launched a manhunt in a bit to arrest Frank Nondo Junior aged 25 who allegedly murdered his 50 year old father Frank Nondo over food.

Acting Police Service Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga told ZANIS in Lusaka today that the incident happened last week on Saturday around 11:00 hours at Kamoto Mission Hospital in Chipata.

Mr. Hamoonga said the two had a dispute over food which prompted the son to pick a brick and hit his father on the head.

He said the man sustained fatal head injuries and died.

He added that the body of the deceased is lying in Chipata General Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

The Zambia Police has since appealed to the members of the public who may have information on the whereabouts of the suspect to report to the nearest police station.

In a related incidence, police in Lusaka have apprehended and detained Luckson Lungu aged 32, who is suspected of having poisoned his wife Violet Tembo, 29.

Mr. Hamoonga said the incident occurred last week around 23:00 hours at an unknown house number in Mtendere East Compound in Lusaka.

He explained that the two had a domestic dispute before the woman died.

He said a bottle of chlorine was found on the scene with a different substance in it.

The body of the deceased was discovered with minor injuries and is lying in the University Teaching Hospital (U.T.H) mortuary awaiting postmortem.
