The opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has continued to suffer loss at civic level as its Kansasa Ward Councilor in Samfya Patson Mambwe resigned his position and joined the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).
Mr. Mambwe was the only elected MMD Councilor in the 18 man PF controlled Samfya council.
Samfya District Council Secretary Joseph Sampa confirmed the development to ZANIS in Samfya today.
Mr. Sampa said he has already received the resignation letter from the only MMD Councilor.
He said he had since prepared notifications to the Electoral Commission of Zambia as Kasansa Ward had now fallen vacant because of the new development.
