Government says it has learnt with sadness and sorrow the untimely death of former Luena independent Member of Parliament, Chrispin Sibetta.

Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, Kennedy Sakeni, says the death of Mr Sibetta was unbearable as it has happened when the nation was still filled with pain and sorrow following the death of over 50 people in the Post bus road traffic accident.

Mr Sakeni, who is also Chief Government spokesperson, said Mr Sibetta was a reservoir of wisdom who contributed immensely to Zambia’s democracy and development during the many years he served as Member of Parliament.

“His great sense of humour and intelligent contributions to debates in parliament was a source of great inspiration to the people of Zambia,” he recalled.

The Government spokesperson stressed that Mr Sibetta has left behind indelible footprints of fearless and selfless service to the nation which we should all emulate.

Mr Sakeni has since conveyed a message of condolences to the bereaved family on the untimely sad demise of Mr Sibetta.
